Development at 35 Weeks
Around week 35, rapid weight gain typically continues. The kidneys are fully developed and producing urine regularly. The liver is processing waste. Group B Streptococcus (GBS) testing is commonly offered around weeks 35–37. The fetus is approximately the size of a coconut. Most babies in this position are head-down around this gestational age.

Around week 35, many people feel the pregnancy quite physically. Pelvic pressure and discomfort are commonly reported as the baby grows. Group B Strep testing may be offered around this time. Many people are finalizing birth plans and newborn care preparations. Fatigue and backache are very common.
