33 Weeks Pregnant
Development at 33 Weeks
Around week 33, the skull bones are still flexible — they have not yet fused — which will allow the head to navigate the birth canal. The brain is developing wrinkles (gyri and sulci) that increase its surface area. The fetus is approximately the size of a pineapple. The baby's immune system is continuing to develop.
