6 Weeks Pregnant
Development at 6 Weeks
At around week 6, a heartbeat may be detectable by transvaginal ultrasound for the first time. Arm and leg buds are beginning to appear. The embryo is roughly the size of a lentil. Facial features are beginning their early formation, though the embryo still has a very different appearance from a newborn at this stage.

Common Experiences at 6 Weeks
Morning sickness — which can occur at any time of day — is commonly reported around week 6, though not everyone experiences it. Fatigue is also frequently mentioned. Some people notice mood changes. Small, gentle meals may help with nausea for some people, though experiences differ widely. Checking in with a provider is always an option.
Experiences vary widely between individuals. If you have concerns about any symptom, contact your healthcare provider.
